Climate Mobility Justice Academy
The BCC’s Climate Mobility Justice Academy (CMJA) brings together emerging leaders from all corners of the world who are committed to making environmental mobility justice a reality.

Our Approach
All CMJA courses and trainings centre the lenses of critical, decolonial, rights-respecting social, migrant, racial, feminist, economic and environmental justice.
CMJA courses and trainings encourage structural and systemic analysis of environmental mobility challenges with the aim of reinstilling people-power and people-agency at the heart of advancing timely, creative, cross-sectoral and just solutions to the climate change, environment and (im)mobilities nexus.
Our programmes encourage participants to reflect on their positionalities and to lean into their knowledge, wisdom and agency as researchers, academics, advocates, activists, practitioners, creatives and change-makers while exchanging insights and best practices to co-create new tools that advance climate and environmental mobility justice.
Through our programming, we aim to shift power dynamics and disrupt colonially-entrenched knowledge and value systems that (re)produce epistemic forms of violence, marginalize impacted communities and the wisdom of their lived experiences in research and praxis on climate and environmental-related (im)mobilities, environmental justice and beyond.

“You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time”
